My name is Tahiry and I am 17.
I get up at 4:30 am, however I have to be sometimes forced, which ends up getting on the nerves of my parents. After waking up, I pray then I do my bed and take a bath around 6:00 am. I leave the house around 6:30 am if school starts at 7:00 am. For breakfast, we Malagasies eat rice, but some also have tea with « mofogasy » (Malagasy recipe made of wheat, rice and sugar). In total, we are an average of five in the family.
French and English are my favourite classes, because later on, I would like to be steward. In our school, students are all nice and gallant; I do not really choose my friends for I get along with everybody.
My memories are numerous; however the most unforgettable is the day where I got lost in the forest with my friends for a day and a half without eating. My friends and I, during an excursion, we went too deep into the forest and got lost. We only had our lunch for that day. Someone looked for us but without success; finally we slept under the stars and during the night we lighted up a fire and thanks to it, people located us.
As all young people, I have problems, such as school (I am weak in Physics), broken heart problems and my relationship with my parents : they are very strict. In general, I trust my parents, but I don’t tell them all my problems. I don’t dare to tell them my broken heart problems, because they don’t understand me; they think that they are always right on everything. I trust my friends with secrets.
Usually I walk around with my friends and sometimes I play video games. Sometimes we also fish. In our neighbourhood, life is more or less calm.

My name is Julie, I get up at 5 o’clock in the morning. When I get up, I take a shower, then I have my breakfast made of « menakely » (rice wheat beignet and egg) and some tea. Then, I get ready for school. I put my beige blouse on and leave at 6:30 am.
When I do my homework, my little brother who is 7 years old always disturbs me. I get mad at him for what he is doing. I am a student at Jacques RABEMANANJARA High School. Classes start at 7:15 am and end, according to the timetable, at 11:00 am or noon. During recreation, my girlfriends and I eat some « vaomadilo » (tamarin), then we sometimes tease each other to pass the time. The next class is Sports, we wear our purple tee-shirt with white shorts, which is the reglementary outfit, then we go home.
I get home late and my parents ground me. At home, I help my mom with the cooking and house cleaning. At lunch time, all my family is there, coming from Malagasy custom, lunch and dinner are important times : they gather all the members of the family. Then I clean the table before I do my homework and have a little nap. Then, I leave for my Rock class if we are on Wednesday, otherwise I go to school. During the week, it is the same routine. And the weekends, I like watching TV, especially comic movies such as Mr. Bean or horror movies that scare me at night.
Eventually, I go to bed after my evening prayer.
